Tucked among the towering pines east of San Diego is Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»â€™s Mount Laguna Observatory. It’s a learning lab for budding astronomers — and bonus, in the summer it opens to the public with a Saturday night visitor program.

Entrepreneurship initiatives at Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» have launched hundreds of one-of-a-kind ideas — think health-care apps to blister-proof socks — and with the establishment of Techstars San Diego powered by Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» in late 2023, there is even more to come from Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» students and alumni.

Sixty-five years ago, Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» took over an elementary school in Calexico, California, and turned it into a destination for upper division students. Today, it offers four-year degrees and is expanding its footprint in STEM, providing an essential workforce pipeline for the area.
