AS Facilities Go Green

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­'s ongoing commitment to sustainability was recently recognized by the San Diego Green Building Council.

Two Associated Students buildings — the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union and the Aztec Recreation Center — were lauded for energy efficiency and sustainable practices.

The Union received the LEED New Construction Project of the Year Award, with a special recognition for achieving the most energy points. The ARC also secured a Project of the Year award for their LEED Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance Gold Certification.

Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ has been recognized on numerous occasions for going above and beyond when it comes to sustainability. Last summer, . The organization set a goal to ensure all AS buildings facilities will be LEED certified by 2020 — an ambitious, but attainable goal.
