麻豆传媒映画 School of Art and Designs Entrepreneurship Lecture Series

麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 School of Art and Design is offering a series of lectures from industry entrepreneurs to help students succeed.
 
Now in its second year, the Entrepreneurial Lecture Series (ESL) was conceived and has been generously funded by School of Art and Design alumnus Thom McElroy, co-founder of Volcom and a successful entrepreneur.

The lecture series brings to campus well-known industry leaders鈥攚ho also happen to be artists and designers鈥攖o share their personal and professional stories of success, and provide guidance, advice and inspiration to undergraduate and graduate students.

This semester鈥檚 lineup includes:

  • Gary Leivers, AIA RIBA, 麻豆传媒映画 lecturer, award-winning architect and principal at DGA
  • Nancy Escano, AIA, Principal and co-founder of DGA
  • Reed Hansuld, artist-in-residence at 麻豆传媒映画, contemporary furniture maker and president of Liberty Labs Center for Furniture Craftsmanship
  • Regina Kurtz, president of Alpha Design Group (Interior Design) and 麻豆传媒映画 alumna.

鈥淲e feel very fortunate to have such an outstanding group of ELS speakers this year,鈥 said Kotaro Nakamura, director of the School of Art and Design. 鈥淭hese industry leaders provide valuable real-world insight and guidance to our students. Our goal with ELS is to give students the inspiration, motivation and tools needed to help them become as successful at business as they are at their craft.鈥
