Shiloh Williams, assistant professor in nursing, joins leaders from across the country to find solutions around health in rural communities.

With the new center, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Imperial Valley faculty are partnering with area organizations to create evidence-based research to support local issues.

The collaboration by faculty and students at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Imperial Valley and UABC in Mexicali includes projects targeting cross-border environmental issues.

The three new projects focus on diabetes related research, adverse pregnancy outcomes and social screenings as part of their work with the Imperial County Clinical Research Network.

On Oct. 11, attendees celebrated the opening of the new public health research laboratories and welcomed incoming students.

The recently confirmed enrollment numbers come as the university continues to grow its degree offerings, research and student support services.
