On-Campus Employment
On-campus employment refers to job opportunities offered directly by Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³», its auxiliaries, or affiliated partners, primarily serving the campus community and typically located on university premises.
- F1 visa status students DO NOT need to request authorization from the ISC to work on-campus.
- If an Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» department requires confirmation from the ISC that you are eligible to work on campus before offering you a job, please contact the ISC at [email protected].
- In your email, include the name of the department and the contact information of a staff member so we can reach out to them directly and explain the employment eligibility of international students.
- J-1 visa status students DO need to request authorization to work on-campus before starting the job and meet the following eligibility requirements:

- The student must be in good academic standing.
- The student must be enrolled in a full-time schedule, except during official academic breaks.
- Employment cannot surpass 20 hours per week during academic sessions.
How to Apply
- Find the on-campus employment
- Receive the offer letter from the Human Resources Department (HR)
- Complete the
- Apply for a Social Security (SSN) if you don’t have one.
Once your on-campus employment is approved, you will receive an ISC letter authorizing your on-campus employment along with your signed DS-2019 that should be used to apply for the SSN.
All requests can take up to 7 business days.
- Students are permitted to work on campus during each semester and official academic breaks for the full duration of their program, as indicated on their I-20 or DS-2019. However, this employment must not extend beyond the official program end date published in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» academic calendar.
- All new incoming students may begin on-campus employment no earlier than 30 days before the program start date listed on their I-20 and DS-2019.
- Students are eligible to work part-time, up to 20 hours per week, when classes are in session.
- Students are eligible to work full-time, up to 40 hours per week during official breaks.
- During summer and winter breaks, students are eligible to start working full-time on campus after the final examination date as published in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» Academic Calendar.
The work must take place either at Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» or at any Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»-affiliated partner or Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» auxiliaries, such as:

F-1 students under an approved Reduced Course Load must be enrolled in a part-time schedule to be eligible for on-campus positions.
- International students are not eligible for work-study.
- Work study eligibility is connected with Financial Aid for resident students.
- F-1 Students may work up to 20 hours in on-campus employment and up to 20 hours of Curricular Practical Training (CPT). The combined total of both types of employment must not exceed 40 hours during ongoing class sessions.
- J-1 Students may work up to 20 hours in on-campus employment and up to 20 hours of Academic Training (AT). The combined total of both types of employment must not exceed 40 hours during ongoing class sessions.
