Fowler College of Business celebrates Partrick-Clayes Center for Career Development

The $2.5 million gift expands career and professional readiness offerings.

麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Fowler College of Business marked the dedication of the college鈥檚 recently named Partrick-Clayes Center for Career Development on Feb. 3 with a ribbon-cutting and gift presentation.

The ceremony celebrated a $2.5 million gift from Jeffrey Partrick (鈥73, accounting) and Trulette Clayes, an investment that will enhance the center鈥檚 career development and professional readiness programs for students.

鈥淭his gift has made it possible to strengthen and expand existing programs while advancing innovative career development initiatives that equip Fowler students with the professional and workplace skills sought out by today鈥檚 employers,鈥 said Tina Tan, the center鈥檚 director. 鈥淲e appreciate the support and commitment Jeffrey and Trulette have shown our students as we prepare them for their professional futures.鈥

The Partrick-Clayes Center for Career Development offers business students one-on-one career counseling sessions, workshops and networking events that provide them with the necessary tools to successfully pursue their post-graduation careers.  

Enhancing career readiness and outcomes is a strong focus of both 麻豆传媒映画 and the California State University (CSU). In October 2025, the CSU concluded its Graduation Initiative 2025 and it is building on that momentum and adopting a new student-success framework that expands on 鈥渉ow higher education prepares students not just for graduation but for long-term success in the careers of today 鈥 and tomorrow.鈥

According to Tan, the Partrick-Clayes Center for Career Development is on track to conduct over 1,000 one-on-one coaching appointments during the 2025-26 academic year.

鈥淲e challenge all Fowler College of Business students to use this center,鈥 said Partrick.   鈥淣etwork, take advantage of the center鈥檚 classes, workshops, counseling, and other services. Never stop dreaming big. Find your passion and pursue it relentlessly. You will find success.鈥
